Masha Segal
Masha Segal is an interdisciplinary professional specialising in documentary film and space curation while developing a practice in spatial design. Her work documents folk customs, traditions, and crafts - exploring them as elements that foster social cohesion, a means of passing down generational wisdom, and a form of embodied expression. These cultural elements shape identity and belonging, serving as doorways to deeper connection with the body’s innate wisdom and the ecology that mirrors inner rhythms. The shared rituals, creative expressions, and symbolic narratives within traditions create spaces for release, reflection, and reconnection. Masha’s journey has led to an exploration of how these feelings can be embodied through spatial design. How can physical space foster inner harmony and serve as a reminder of the guidance we can access through the body? This practice is driven by a simple yet profound intention: to create holistically restorative environments that alleviate existential weight and offer moments of stillness. By relying on the enveloping quality of drone sound and minimal set design, the experience aims to cultivate focus, culminating in a sense of relief and deep presence.
